Пожалуйте несколько интервью с Дэном!

Daniel Adair Interview (July 28, 2003)

1) Did you play any sports as a child?
[Daniel Adair] Other than a few gym type thingsat school, absolutely none! It was never in my family and I never had a interest.

2) What's your favorite 3DD quote from:
~The Better Life-[Daniel Adair] This will fall away.
~AFTS-[Daniel Adair] I'm over this, I'm tired of living in the dark, can anyone see me down here?
3) What's the craziest thing a fan has asked you?
[Daniel Adair] "Can I have your necklace?  You have lots of money."

4) What's the most insaine thing you've ever done?
[Daniel Adair] Jumped off the side of a van traveling 30 mph onto a gravel road holding a beer.

5) Has a fan ever done something to distract you or any of the guys on stage?
[Daniel Adair] In Milwaukee (sp?) a bra flew up on stage, and it was the biggest thing I've seen in my entire life!!  We were all distracted!

6) Would you ever dye your hair a crazy color?
[Daniel Adair] Yup, Im up to try it!

7) What's the most monumental experience in your life?
[Daniel Adair] The comnined experiences I've had with 3 Doors Down.  Basically overnight going from playing in clubs and pubs to playing the Leno and Letterman
and standing on the Eiffel tower thinking how crazy it all is!

8) What was the worst job you ever had?
[Daniel Adair] I did some basic carpentry work for some dude who was a psycho biker drunk idiot for 3 weeks.  I got up at 5 everyday to pick him up for work, and in the end I never got paid!  2nd worse was  cutting glass in a big factory.

9) What was your favorite toy as a child?
[Daniel Adair] Transformers!  Probably Soundwave or Optimus Prime.

10) What was your favorite show or movie as a child?
[Daniel Adair] 10,000 leagues under the sea.

11) What's your quirkiest habit?
[Daniel Adair] If I'm fidgeting with my fingers I have to rub my thumb and my finger up, down, left, right, diagonal and back, then the other side diagonal and back.  Quirky enough?  :)

12) If you had the ability to go back in time, what era would you like to live in and why?
[Daniel Adair] I'd go back to the 1920-1940 era, because musically, so much evolution  was taking place, it was a exciting time for music as jazz and blues were formed, and there were so many great musicians.  Above all, it was before teh video age, and it was about the MUSIC.

13) Whats the funniest thing you've seen on this tour?
[Daniel Adair] Todd and I dried some clothes, and we put way too much stuff in the dryer at a time, and when we took them out, our jeans were twisted up so much that they looked like mops!

14) What was the most touching thing you saw while on tour on the military bases?
[Daniel Adair] The sacrifice that whole families make to live in a different country on a base, just so we can all have our freedom and awesome lives over here.

15) What's your favorite holiday, and why?
[Daniel Adair] XMas, eggnog.

16) What's your favorite childhood memory?
[Daniel Adair] Going to Seattle with my dad all the time and going to the airports and Boing factory so I could check out all the awesome commerical aircraft.

17) Do you have any regrets looking back on your life, if so, what are they?
[Daniel Adair] Maybe I wouldn't be so greedy with my time.

18) How would you describe yourself to someone who never met you?
[Daniel Adair] Intense, passionate, fun, sensitive, attentive.

19) What's one thing your fans don't  know about you?
[Daniel Adair] I have this thing for super-cute short brunettes!

20) Do you prefer hot or cold weather?
[Daniel Adair] I'd have to pick hot, because I love sweating, an cold weather makes my fingers go numb!

21) Have you started picking up some southern slang from the boys yet?
[Daniel Adair] Hell yah!  I'm starting to think in terms of "I'm fixin' to", "That ain't no.....", and "I reckon".  Is there something I can do to stop this?

22) How does it feel to be a international sex symbol?
[Daniel Adair] Bring it on baby!

23) and by request of some of the ladies on the boards, they would like to know when they can expect a shower cam!!lol!!
[Daniel Adair] Well, I have to set up a credit card payment system soon, and then I'll advertise!

Дальше поехали:

Q: WHERE WERE YOU BORN & RAISED?
A: I was born in Toronto but moved to BC at 5 years old. I'll say it now to get it over with, I'm a Surrey boy!

Q: WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO THE MUSIC BUSINESS?
A: My Dad used to be a drummer and he had a drum kit in the closet. Out of curiosity one day I set it up and banged around on it, that night I listened to a Rush album my sister had and I heard it with new ears. I couldn't believe what Neil Peart (the drummer), was doing in the songs. I taught myself how to play all the parts, it just made sense to me. It was the best thing that ever happened to me, I never looked back and became completely obsessed with music!

Q: WHAT IS YOUR DRUM STYLE?
A: I'd say that I'm a rock drummer with a little more flare and technique than the average player.

Q: WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU'RE BEST ABLE TO ACHIEVE OR CREATE WORKING TOGETHER IN A BAND ATMOSPHERE AS OPPOSED TO WORKING AS A TOURING/STUDIO DRUMMER?
A: I think of myself as an intense drummer, and I think that it's translating into the music on this album now that I have the chance to show it. There are some drum highlights that I'm quite proud of! In the past, playing the role of a session drummer, I never had the chance to have input concerning lyrics, harmonies, or any type of production ideas. Because I sing and play some guitar, I feel I transcend being just a drummer by being able to contribute in all of those areas, and the guys have welcomed it with open arms.

Q: WHAT IS IT ABOUT ROCK MUSIC THAT CONTINUES TO KEEP YOUR INTEREST AND INSPIRE YOU?
A: Aggression, pure and simple. I guess it starts as a teenager, when you're full of angst and mixed emotions, it's that place you can go for an outlet. I don't think that's ever changed for me, I've always been a fan of heavy music. Also, the first album I ever bought was Metallica's "Master of Puppets" so that had a big impact!

Q: WHO ARE YOUR GREATEST MUSICAL INFLUENCES AND WHY? WHO ARE YOUR GREATEST NON-MUSICAL INFLUENCES AND WHY?
A: Neil Peart from Rush was my first biggest music influence, that helped with understanding more complex music and odd time signatures. Then John Bonham from Led Zeppelin changed everything for me, he taught me great feel and playing along with the albums forced me to develop a fast right foot. The biggest drum influence would have to be a guy named Dennis Chambers, he mostly plays jazz/fusion, but he is a musical chameleon, he has to be one of the greatest drummers around, listening to him forced me to study hard with teachers to get my technique together. My biggest non-musical influences would have to be a fellow named Dave Martone, who plays guitar in an instrumental band I'm in called Martone, he taught me work ethic, level headiness, and compassion for others. The other is an old friend named Rick Clark for the same reasons.

Q: ARE YOU ENJOYING RECORDING WITH NICKELBACK? IN MANY WAYS, IT'S A GREAT MATCH. DOES IT FEEL THAT WAY TO YOU?
A: Everyday I wake up and try to figure out how I got so lucky to end up in this situation! The biggest rock band in Canada, I've always loved the music, and the guys are just the coolest, most down to earth people. I think we're a great match, we all get along like brothers, we get along musically, and we're all hosers!

Q: WHAT OTHER BAND MEMBER ARE YOU MOST LIKE IN NICKELBACK AND WHY?
A: I think I'm a lot like Mike, we're very similar in a lot of ways as far as being punctual, organized, and all that Type A personality stuff!

Q: FAVOURITE NICKELBACK SONG TO PLAY? FAVOURITE NICKELBACK SONG TO LISTEN TO?
A: Favourite to play is Flat on the Floor. My favourite song is Woke up this Morning.

Q: WHAT BANDS HAVE YOU PREVIOUSLY RECORDED WITH AND TOURED WITH?
A: In the beginning I recorded with a number of Vancouver bands, originals and covers, then as of late I was the studio and touring drummer for 3 Doors Down, I also recorded a track on the latest Theory of a Deadman album along with the B sides, my band Martone, and now Nickelback!

Q: DO YOU PREFER PLAYING IN CLUBS OR STADIUMS? WHY?
A: I like both, It sounds so much better in a small club, there's not that huge delay coming back you, and I like seeing the people up front in a club and interacting with them. But, there is a different excitement with a stadium, the massive size, the number of people, it just doesn't compare.

Q: TELL NICKELBACK FANS SOMETHING ABOUT DANIEL ADAIR, THEY CAN'T FIND ON THE INTERNET OR IN YOUR BIO.
A: I have two leopard geckos at home and I drink way too much coffee!

Q: WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS SO FAR AND WHAT WOULD YOU NEVER REPEAT BASED ON YOUR EXPERIENCES?
A: It's a business, like any other, plain and simple, which was disappointing to discover! Think before you talk in an interview! And, never give your contact info out to fans!!

Q: WHAT WAS THE FIRST RECORD YOUR EVER BOUGHT? ARE YOU A BIG MUSIC COLLECTOR?
A: Metallica, Master of Puppets. I have tons of music, ranging from Metal, to lots of jazz/fusion, to Usher!

Q: FOR YOU, WHO IS THE MOST UNDERRATED BAND OR ARTIST IN THE CANADIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY TODAY? INTERNATIONALLY? AND, WHY FOR BOTH.
A: Thornley, I am a big fan of his music and was also a fan of Big Wrecks music, he's such a talent and I love his songs. Internationally? I'd say any fusion or off the wall music that I'm a fan of. People don't have patience for it, I guess it's a bi-product of our modern culture.

Q: WHAT HAVE YOU FOUND TO BE THE MOST TROUBLING MISCONCEPTION ABOUT CANADIAN ARTISTS?
A: If you're a big Canadian band, everybody thinks you're American, and when they find out your Canadian, you're not as cool!

Q: NAME THREE SONGS YOU COULD LISTEN TO A MILLION TIMES OVER.
A: 1) Metallica - Battery, 2) COC - Vote with a Bullet, 3) Dave Matthews - Crash

Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIE?
A: It's a tie...either Star Wars 3 or Napoleon Dynamite.

Q: WHAT ACTOR WOULD PLAY DANIEL ADAIR IN A MOVIE ABOUT YOUR LIFE?
A: Edward Norton

Q: WHAT IS YOUR ZODIAC SIGN AND DOES IT REPRESENT YOU WELL?
A: Pieces, I think it works for me!

Q: WHAT IS YOUR MOST ANTICIPATED ALBUM RELEASE THIS YEAR?
A: System Of A Down.

Q: WHAT MOTIVATES YOU?
A: I'm usually motivated when I let things slip too far, like not practicing enough, eating bad, then I wake up, give my head a shake and hit it hard again.

Q: NAME ONE THING YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT.
A: Beer!

Q: IF YOU WEREN'T IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS, WHAT OTHER PROFESSION WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO HAVE?
A: I'd like to be a pilot.

Читайте, наслаждайтесь! ))))

Martone.

Кстати,на "прослушивании" у Никелей он барабанил Far Away )))
