BRITISH warbler James Blunt scooped two gongs at the World Music Awards – but Michael Jackson attracted the most attention.
Blunt won awards for World's Best New Artist and Best-Selling British Artist.
Madonna was named the World's Best Pop Artist, beating nominees Robbie Williams and Justin Timberlake at the show, hosted by actress and party animal Lindsay Lohan.
Canadian singer Nelly Furtado won World's Best Pop/Rock Artist for her song Maneater.
Rockers Nickelback, who are also Canadian, beat Coldplay and the Red Hot Chili Peppers to World's Best Rock Group.
Former Destiny's Child star Beyonce was crowned Best R&B Artist and Kanye West Best Rap/Hip-Hop Artist.
Colombian pop star Shakira won World's Best Latin Artist, French star Bob Sinclar the World's Best DJ and Enya Best-Selling Irish Artist.
Michael Jackson picked up a Diamond Award from US singer Beyonce. He thanked "my fans all over the world".
"I dedicate this to the so many that have loved me and stayed by me throughout these years in the entertainment business," he said.
"While I cannot meet all of them I would like to thank my wonderful children, Paris, Prince and Blanket for their unconditional love and support and my mother and my father, my brothers and sisters, my entire family for their love and support.
"I thank you, I love you all, all the fans, from the bottom of my heart."
